What does your job at Vogel’s involve?
I weigh up all the ingredients needed for mixing the various varieties of Vogel’s loaves and rolls, as well as soak any grains in water as needed. The ingredients are all then transferred to the mixing team.
How long have you been baking or in the food industry?
Nearly two years, so I’m relatively new to it. I love the part I play in getting simply made, tasty bread to the supermarkets and your kitchens.
What do you love about bread?
I mainly use bread for making sandwiches as there’s nothing better than a seeded wholemeal loaf packed with a favourite filling – and of course toast for breakfast or a snack!
What’s your favourite food?
I absolutely love all kinds of fish.
What made you want to bake Vogel’s rather than another kind of bread?
Soya & Linseed is my favourite, and generally our bread has the wonderful taste and texture of a real bread but available in a supermarket.
How much bread do you have the chance to eat each day, all in the name of ‘quality control’ of course?!
On average I take part in an internal taste test panel monthly, where I and other team members can eat lots of different breads all at the same time.
